Tree Dedication Service At Garden City Bird Sanctuary (Garden City News)

Garden City's community nature preserve continues to be a special place for many residents. A dedication service was held May 3 at the Garden City Bird Sanctuary for trees and shrubs donated in honor and memory of loved ones, or compliments of neighbors and friends. One tree was in memory of a grandfather, another for a sister.

A native parrot rarely seen on the Auckland mainland made a surprise appearance this week on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. A kaka was discovered in a bottlebrush shrub at the Roberts Rd home of Dion Coleman on Tuesday.
